It's official!!

Yep-- it true!! We are finally on the LIST! I know most of our friends and family already know, but for those of you who don't we have put in our adoption papers with LDS family services. I am so excited, nervous, relieved, and giddy, all at the same time. We got our answer in November that adoption was the next step for us, but we didn't really start doing anything about it until mid January. We just wanted to make it thru the holidays before the dreaded "paperwork". Now after tons of paperwork, numerous interviews, divulging every little detail of our whole lives, and passing our home study, we are finally there! For our next step, I am calling on you, our wonderful friends and family members; see there are hundreds of families wanting babies and we are like a needle in a haystack, so we need your help. We created these fun pass along cards. You can email it to someone, post it on your blog, or we have actual cards if there is someone you know who might be looking to give a baby up for adoption. Please help try to spread the word for us. Here is a direct link to our profile page----- https://itsaboutlove.org/ial/profiles/24361850/ourMessage.jsf. Thanks in advance for your help. We are so grateful for the love and support we have felt already, and can't wait to see what this journey has in store for us.

Luck or Fate?

Ok-- so yesterday I booked Brett and I a flight to Nashville next month for my coding conference. My work pays for mine and we pay for Brett's. Just as I am getting ready to click the purchase button I see the little box that says check here for flight insurance. Flight insurance--who needs it, right? I mean we know we are going to Nashville because I am already registered for the conference-- wait-- I better call Brett and just check and see what he thinks-- Brett says--whatever you think. Well, its only $16.00 a piece. I guess I'll just get it. That was a 9:30 yesterday morning. By 10:00 last night on the news, I hear that the Gaylord Opry Land, where we were going to be staying and where the convention was, is covered in 10 feet of water!! I found out today that the Gaylord has been evacuated and shut down for six months--WOW. Meanwhile they are frantically trying to find another place for our conference. A little hard when you have 2000 people coming! I am so sad. We had tickets to the Grand Ole Opry to see Carrie Underwood and Josh Turner. Now I have no idea where we will be going. Good thing I got flight insurance or we would be out a $420 ticket. Morale of this story-- always buy flight insurance:)

Dancing Queens

So I am sure that all of you who know me, know how much I love to dance. I have always loved dancing. Well, as I have gotten older, it's not as easy as it used to be but I still love it. A couple of years ago I took an adult jazz class and loved it.Then last year I didn't sign up again because I decided I would spend that money on my photography addiction. Well--last year I went to my cousin Mindy's dance recital and was so jealous. She was taking Clogging and Riverdance from a teacher who helped me with a solo I did for a Junior Miss pageant. After the recital Mindy kept telling me I should do it with her. It looked SO fun that I did just that. In Aug. I started and I have loved every minute of it. I took one semester of clogging in college and I loved it! There is just some kind of gratification that comes from making noise with your feet. Anyway- we had our recital this weekend. I am really going to miss it. The workout is great, especially when you Riverdance. Our clogging dance was to Miley Cyrus's Hoe Down Throw Down. Our Riverdance was to a song called Fire Burning. Here is a picture of Mindy and I in our cow-girl getup.

Now that it's over I am kinda sad and can't wait until next year. I loved seeing Mindy every week. She was always the big sister that I never had and I always looked up to her. Oh well, I'm sure that before I know it, summer will be over and I will be dusting off those clogging shoes again!
