Luck or Fate?

Ok-- so yesterday I booked Brett and I a flight to Nashville next month for my coding conference. My work pays for mine and we pay for Brett's. Just as I am getting ready to click the purchase button I see the little box that says check here for flight insurance. Flight insurance--who needs it, right? I mean we know we are going to Nashville because I am already registered for the conference-- wait-- I better call Brett and just check and see what he thinks-- Brett says--whatever you think. Well, its only $16.00 a piece. I guess I'll just get it. That was a 9:30 yesterday morning. By 10:00 last night on the news, I hear that the Gaylord Opry Land, where we were going to be staying and where the convention was, is covered in 10 feet of water!! I found out today that the Gaylord has been evacuated and shut down for six months--WOW. Meanwhile they are frantically trying to find another place for our conference. A little hard when you have 2000 people coming! I am so sad. We had tickets to the Grand Ole Opry to see Carrie Underwood and Josh Turner. Now I have no idea where we will be going. Good thing I got flight insurance or we would be out a $420 ticket. Morale of this story-- always buy flight insurance:)

  1. Wow. That is crazy. We were in Kentucky last weekend and were grateful we weren't in Tennessee. Maybe you'll get really lucky and they will move your conference to Columbus, Ohio. I hear it is beautiful in June and there are so many things to do :) So I guess I'll see you in a month. We even have an extra room.
